There is no hierarchy among my works; a large vase, a portrait, a sculpture, a spoon, a drawing or a shirt is approached with the same level of care. These objects are not defined solely by their function; they become presences with which we live. They hold the memory of the gestures that created them, exist within the flow of time, and age alongside us.
The large vases, the *Têtes pensantes* (Thinking Heads), the portraits and the functional pieces belong to the same family of forms. The same colors, gestures, and irregularities flow from one object to another, whether sculptural or intended for daily use. Together, they form a landscape of unique objects, designed to inhabit our living spaces. Objects that seek not merely to be looked at, but to be used, to age with us, and to become familiar presences.

Born in 1976, Carole Touati developed an artistic practice at the intersection of ceramics, drawing and textiles after more than fifteen years working in fashion and art direction. She discovered ceramics in Barcelona in 2017, studying with Japanese ceramic artist Misako Homma, and trained first in hand-building before moving on to wheel-throwing.
In 2018, she founded Reconsider, a project through which she creates unique pieces in stoneware and porcelain, drawings, and transformed garments printed with her gouache illustrations. Her work has been presented in Tokyo, at La Forêt Harajuku in 2018 and 2019, and at Milan Design Week in 2021 as part of 1000 Vases. In 2023, she presented her work at Galerie 3m2 in Paris, followed by a group exhibition at Taula Gallery in Barcelona in 2024 and the group exhibition Matière Vive during Paris Design Week in 2026.
Since 2024, her studio has been based in Burgundy, in the Morvan, where she continues to explore material, gesture and everyday objects. In 2026, her work was presented at Galerie du Passage in Autun and as part of Chemins des Arts in Chissey-en-Morvan. This new setting has also nurtured her desire to make her studio an open place for encounters and creative exchange, connected to and engaged with the local community.

Since 2024, my workshop has been based in France, in the village of Chissey-en-Morvan, at the hamlet of Vaussery, in the heart of the Morvan Regional Natural Park.
