I founded re|consider in 2018, after more than 15 years working in fashion as a consultant and art director. Surrounded by digital acceleration and constant connectivity, I felt the need to reconnect with a slower, more tactile way of creating.
I discovered ceramics during a pottery course with a Japanese ceramist in Barcelona, where I lived for over twenty-five years. It immediately felt instinctive, a return to something essential. Today, I work between Barcelona and Burgundy, where my studio is based in Chissey-en-Morvan, in the heart of the Morvan Natural Park.
Working with stoneware and porcelain, I create unique ceramic pieces, upcycled garments and gouache illustrations. My practice moves between functional objects and more sculptural forms, combining wheel-thrown techniques with hand-finished details.
I Am drawn to contrasts: elegance and awkwardness, precision and imperfection, utility and emotion. Through colour, texture and unexpected forms, I explore a personal and intuitive idea of beauty.
Textile, ceramics and painting coexist in an approach rooted in everyday life. I like the idea that objects can create a quiet, intimate relationship with those who use them, pieces to live with over time, offering comfort, familiarity and presence.
My work has been exhibited in Paris at Galerie 3m2, during Milan Design Week, and in Tokyo through pop-ups at La Forêt Harajuku.
Carole Touati. Founder.
Since 2024, my workshop has been based in France, in the village of Chissey-en-Morvan, at the hamlet of Vaussery, in the heart of the Morvan Regional Natural Park.
